TAIPEI - The 2024 Golden Horse Film Project Promotion announced the project selections for this year’s WIP (work-in-progress), on Sept 3, 2024. A total of 13 WIP projects were selected.

There are five WIP projects that bring unique regional perspectives: Malaysian filmmaker YEO Joon-han’s comedy You Are Here; Singaporean director ANG Geck Geck Priscilla’s AH GIRL, which portrays the separation of parents from the child’s perspective; NG Hiu-tung’s NO TIME FOR GOODBYE, the story of a Hongkonger seeking asylum in the UK; WONG Ka-ki’s I Heard that They Are Not Going to See Each Other Anymore, a fantastical romance that explores the alienation and confusion of urbanites; and the horror film Kong Tao by Malaysian directors YONG Choon-lin and GOH Pei-chiek, who bring to life the frightening black magic practice of hexing.

After nine years of making 12 short films, writer and director NG Hiu-tung debuts his feature film this summer in London. "We are deeply grateful to the Golden Horse Film Project Promotion for recognizing our efforts right after we wrapped, reinforcing our belief in the enduring vitality of Hong Kong cinema and its ability to keep our dreams alive no matter where we are in the world," Ng said. 

The film stars Lam Yiu Sing and Kitty Yu, with the special appearance of Teddy Robin and Afghan actress Hasiba Ebrahimi, British actor Ademola Adeyemo, Leo Anand. 

The 2024 Golden Horse Film Project Promotion will take place in Taipei from November 18 to November 20, with the award winners announced at the closing ceremony on November 20.
